Well, behold the first product on this lineup, the 2.5″ leveling kit by Rough Country. This brand is an absolute monster when it comes to making products for suspension systems.

I have reviewed plenty of their shocks and kits before, and let me say that if you hear the name Rough Country, you can buy their products blindly.

However, if you don’t want to take me at my word, let me give you some details.

The first thing to clarify is that what is a leveling kit?

This is different from a lift kit, and the answer is in the buying guide at the end of this article.

If you are an avid off-roader, then you will love this one. The 2.5″ increase in the clearance is more than plenty for your undercarriage to protect from the ground.

The company assures all buyers that, unlike most kits on the market, this product will not affect the driving experience.

It retains the stock driving experience and does not affect the smoothness at all. The brand even provides a lifetime warranty with this product.

Of course, it is always welcome to see any warranty with a lift or leveling kit. But a lifetime warranty is just incomparable with all other options out there.

Some buyers did complain about the structural integrity of the spacers. As they are made of hard plastic and not metal, they may have gotten damaged while shipping.
PROS
  • Increased ground clearance
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Retains stock driving experience
  • Easy to install
CONS
  • Made of plastic
  • Not that durable

One of the reviews described the spacers as “hockey pucks” pretty much summarizes their build quality.

Nonetheless, most people were satisfied with their purchase, and judging by their reviews, they would repurchase the kit.

Coming in at second place is another leveling kit, this time by the brand ReadyLift.

The company has earned the top spot in some of my articles before because of their attention to customer service and excellent product quality.

This leveling kit is proof of that statement. The first thing you may have noticed is that the manufacturer listed a very odd lift amount of 2.25-inches.

Most manufacturers would have rounded it off to 2.5″ and then tank their reviews because they lied. Well, ReadyLift is not like them.

If you don’t want a plastic kit to raise your vehicle, I am sure an aluminium one will do the job. This one has been crafted using billet aluminium.

This means that it is readied from a solid block of metal, making it structurally strong and durable.

The fact that the whole kit costs less than a single custom wheel, and takes much lesser time to install, supports the argument that this is the better way of lifting your vehicle.

This kit comes with two warranties. One of them is the 5-year/60000-mile powertrain warranty, while the other is the brand’s lifetime warranty.

Moreover, the first warranty covers all damages caused by the manufacturer’s product to the engine, transmission and the drivetrain itself.

In comparison, the other one guarantees a free replacement if the product fails due to factory faults.

Finally the people who experienced the most problems owned the 2015 and 2016 models of the F150.

One user complained that even with the lift kit, he could not fit 35″ and even 34″ tires, while another user reported that the kit affects the front cv axles.

PROS
  • Crafted from billet aluminium
  • 5-year/60000-mile powertrain warranty
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Easy and quick installation
CONS
  • It does not fit 34" and larger tires on the 2016 model
  • May break the cv axles

This one by ReadyLift is a unique one. It has its ups and downs, but the benefits outweigh the cons. If you want an aluminium kit, then this is the best one you can buy right now.

I think the name of the brand, Supreme Suspensions, is enough to clarify that it makes good products.

Well, let me tell you that their kits are not just good, they are superb. More than 300 reviews online agree with my assessment, and after I describe this product, hopefully, you will too.

This Supreme Suspensions Front Leveling Kit can be used on all models of the Ford F150 released during 2004 and 2020.

That is a pretty extensive compatibility range. It has three options to choose from when buying. You can either choose a 2″ lift, a 2.5″ lift and even a 3″ lift.

But it seems as if 2.5-inches is the sweet spot for most of the buyers, so that I will be talking about that.

The brand also clarifies that the spacers don’t have the exact height of the promised lift, i.e. 2.5-inches.

They advise buyers to measure the before and after installation height to ensure they get what they paid for.

Moving on to the installation; the manufacturer claims that this whole kit can be installed in merely two hours. If that is true, it is one of the fastest installing kits on the market.

It also requires no special tools, as it has a bolt-on installation. This eliminates the need to contact a mechanic to do the job.

The most common issue users found with this product was that the upper control arm hits the struts when going over speed bumps.

This creates a clanging sound that is annoying. Buyers also complained that the instructions were either poorly written or not included in the box at all.

PROS
  • Bolt-on installation
  • Made from aircraft-grade billet aluminium
  • Can be installed in under two hours
CONS
  • Poorly written instructions
  • Clanging sound due to control arms hitting the coil springs

Honestly, I would not worry about the instructions as I would instead follow a YouTube tutorial.

But the clanging sound at every speed bump is an annoyance that you may have to deal with.

Not to be confused with Rough Country, Tuff Country is a brand I have never heard of. And I think neither have you heard about them too.

This company is pretty much under the radar, but it caught my eye when I saw this Tuff Country 22909 2″ Leveling Kit has Solid Five-Star Rating.

The details of the product were relatively scarce, but I managed to scour the internet to tell you guys if this one is worth it, and it is.

It can be used on the 2009 to 2017 models of the Ford F150. These provide a lift of 2-inches from the front. It levels the front with the rear, and hence eliminating the nosediving issue.

It also increases stability while driving as the whole vehicle is now at the same height. They assure buyers that the factory ride quality will be retained.

They mean that you will not notice any difference in the driving experience except for the height. Usually, in the case of other suspension components, that is a bad thing.

But when talking about leveling kits, all manufacturers’ goal is to retain ride quality as spacers cannot improve it.

But many products from subpar brands decrease shock absorption capabilities, hence degrading the name of leveling kits.

This kit comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The warranty will expire if you transfer ownership of the vehicle to another person.

As far as you are concerned, it is unlimited for you.

Buyers had no issues with this product. But it has very few reviews, which begs the question of there any faults in it.

The reviews did praise its quality, but it still is a risky buy.

PROS
  • Eliminates nosediving issue
  • Retains factory drive quality
  • Limited lifetime warranty
CONS
  • Fewer reviews

This one deserves a place on this article. It is durable and does exactly what it advertises.

However, unlike Rough Country and ReadyLift, it is still unknown how they handle customer complaints and warranty claims; hence it is a risky buy.

Well, it’s clear now that F150 owners prefer lower raised trucks. Judging by the number of buys and reviews, they commonly buy kits that provide a 2 to 2.5″ lift.

This Ford F150 2″ leveling kit by Daystar is yet another one of those products, with a 2″ lift that will keep you satisfied for a long time.

Instead of hard plastic or aluminium, the brand chose a completely different route and picked polyurethane as the material of choice for this leveling kit.

It is just as strong as steel and aluminium but has higher corrosion and rust resistance as it is not a metal. This means that the kit will withstand long term use easily.

The kit allows your vehicle to install up to 22-inch tires, which is impossible with the stock settings.

Not only that, but it also adds to the ground clearance, which is excellent for people who like to off-road frequently.

Moreover, they also guarantee that the ride quality will not be affected, and not even the load-carrying capacity.

But, unfortunately, they are the only ones who mention load capacity, begging the question if other kits impact it as well.

As is the problem with the Supreme Suspensions kit, the company has clearly stated that there will be no metal issues on metal contact.

Therefore, there will be no contact of the upper control arms with the struts every time your vehicle drives over a speed bump.

Buyers were disappointed with the fact that the installation of this one is not easy. It is complicated to install as the included instructions are incomplete and vague.
PROS
  • Made of polyurethane
  • Rust and corrosion resistant
  • Can be used to install 22-inch tires
  • Stock ride quality
CONS
  • Difficult to install
  • Incomplete instructions

If the installation process is too complex, I would advise getting the kit installed via a mechanic.

He may do it more quickly and efficiently, as one of the buyers had to spend 5 hours installing the kit.

Although most ford F150 owners prefer a front leveling kit, some would like a lift and level simultaneously.

Now, how is that possible?

This kind of raise can be achieved by raising the front and the rear of the truck.

Coming in at the sixth and final place on this article is the leveling kit by Dynofit.

It provides a 3-inch lift from the front and a 2-inch lift from the rear. And it is available for the 2004 to 2019 models of the Ford F150.

Now the question arises, why are the lift amounts different for the front and the rear?

This is how this product raises and levels the truck at the same time. A 3-inch lift raises the front more than the rear, and the 2-inch one for the rear levels it with the front.

So, you are getting a whole new height to look from, along with better undercarriage protection.

This kit is perhaps the strongest of the bunch as it is crafted from a single slab of steel. Yes, that’s right. This makes it highly durable and robust.

In addition, the 10.9 to 12.9-grade bolts will not break under any condition, with a full guarantee.

The company has made sure that the installation is as straightforward as possible. It has a bolt-on installation that does not require complex tools.

You can install it from the comfort of your garage. There is even a 2-year warranty included along with free replacements if the kit comes with missing parts.

Buyers were satisfied with this product and had no issues with it so you don’t have to worry about the drawbacks when it comes to purchasing this one.
PROS
  • Bolt-On Installation
  • Lifts And Levels The Truck
  • Crafted From Billet Steel
CONS
  • There wasn’t any drawback mentioned for this one

The only reason that this one was put in the last place is that it is not in that much demand as other leveling kits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Does A Leveling Kit Affect Ride Quality?

This is the most commonly asked question about leveling kits. Unless you buy from unknown and unrated brands, you don’t have to worry about degrading the ride quality.

With the kits I listed above, you don’t even have to worry about changing the shocks, as they are compatible with the stock ones.

Q2. Will It Affect The Fuel Economy Of My F-150 Truck?

Manufacturers do not disclose that, but it is true. You may see a 1-2 mpg drop after you install a leveling kit and new tires.

This is because the air movement around the truck is altered, creating more friction than usual.

Hence the fuel economy worsens a little bit. But the ride quality remains unaffected, which is the primary concern of F150 owners.

Everything has some downside. In the case of a leveling kit, it is the mpg.

Q3. Will A Leveling Kit Void My F-150’s Warranty?

Unless the kit breaks or damages the vehicle somehow, there is no way it can void your truck’s warranty.

So if you were hesitant to install one, for this reason, I would suggest getting one right now as it is a significant upgrade for your truck.

Conclusion

What leveling kit is the most popular for Ford F150? Let's find out

There you have it Ford owners, my take on the best F150 leveling kits.

First, let me assure you that every single one of the products mentioned here has been chosen because they were the ones that are as advertised.

All of these brands, except for Tuff Country, are popular and highly regarded.

But if I had to choose one kit out of all others as my go-to recommendation, I would advise you to go for the Rough Country 2.5″ Leveling Kit, which earned the first spot on this article.

It is durable and provides a decent amount of lift. It does have its downs, such as the fact that it is made of plastic, but that does not matter because it is sturdy.
