File Naming Conventions
Revised
11/09/2000
|
In order to make it easier to determine
the purpose of each CADD file (i.e. Roadway Profile, Quantity Tables,
Typical Section, and so on) that is part of any given project, without
having to actually open each file, WVDOT has set up a set of system of
naming each of the files as based on there intended purpose.
-
What goes in what
file?
To have uniformity throughout the Engineering. Division, it is
suggested that the following format be used.
-
- Roadway
-
- Files relating to the design and
placement of roads.
-
- Right-of-Way
-
- Files relating to existing and
proposed Right-of-Way, Property Lines, Court Exhibits, and so on.
-
- Soils
and Testing
-
Files relating to soils and
testing.
-
- Structures
-
Files relating to the design
and placement of structures.
-
- Traffic
-
- Files relating to the placement of
Traffic signs, signals, markings, and so on.
Note: the above standards
refer to pages 1-1 and 1-2 of the December, 1998 CADD Standards.
