Mountain Lakes
Many people know and love
the Mountain Lakes region for its forested mountains, lakes, rivers and streams, clear
skies and starry nights. Many, however, do not realize that this region is also rich in
history, including Stonewall Jackson's boyhood home, Bulltown and Carnifex Ferry
Battlefield State Park. The region offers outdoor activities from whitewater rafting and
hunting to family activities such as camping, attending festivals, boating and shopping.
