North Martinsburg RR U/P Bridge. Project Scope: Cleaning and painting of the existing CSX Railroad Bridge over Interstate 81 near mile post 16. Current Work: Contractor plans to start the initial cleaning on the night of April 14th. US 340JeffersonHarpers Ferry – Va. State Line Road, between Harpers Ferry Bridge MP14.90 and Virginia State Line (0.97 Miles). Project Scope: Resurfacing/Drainage. Current Work: Project has been shut down until spring due to cold weather. At that time the contractor will place the HMA skid course, additional shoulder stone, and the raised pavement markings. Effect on Traffic: None at this time. This work will continue in the spring.Work will continue Spring 2008C

WV 9Construction of new 4-lane roadway, Regional Jail to Opequon Creek. Project Scope: Construction of new 4-lane roadway, including bridges over Opequon Creek and the roadway paving. Current Work: Earthwork, drainage, utilities relocations, paving and bridge work. Effect on Traffic: A traffic detour with lane closures is in place in both directions on WV 9 near the Grapevine Rd. intersection and will remain in place for several months. Also, motorists should be alert for trucks entering and exiting the traffic stream in and near the project and occasional traffic stops on existing WV 9 under the control of flaggers. In addition, Douglas Grove Rd. (CR 9/16) is now closed near the intersection with Route 9 due to bridge work and will be closed for several months.04/14/2008 - 04/18/2008C
WV 9Construction of new 4-lane roadway, Opequon Creek to County Route 9/19 {VanMetre Road}. Project scope: Construction of new 4-lane roadway, including a connector to Baker Heights and bridges. This project also includes construction of the pavement. Current Work: Excavation, embankment, drainage structures; erosion measures, and bridge work. Effect on Traffic: Occasional trucks entering existing WV 9 and occasional traffic stops on Opequon Lane (CR 9/17) under the control of flaggers.04/14/2008 - 04/18/2008C
WV 51Traffic Signal, Inwood Interchange, WV 51 at Interstate 81. Project Scope: Installation of a traffic signal system on West Virginia Route 51 at the I-81 ramps. Current Work: Installation of signal heads and related equipment. Effect on Traffic: Occasional short-term lane closures. Motorists should be alert for the temporary lane closures and construction equipment working in and around the ramp intersections.04/14/2008 - 04/18/2008C
WV 901Traffic Signal, WV 901 and I-81 Ramps; Wal-Mart. Traffic Signal, WV 901 and I-81 Ramps; WalMart. Project Scope: Installation of a series of traffic signals on WV 901; this is to include both ramps of Interstate 81, the entrance to the new WalMart shopping center, and an upgrade to the signal on US 11 & WV 901. The signals will all be interconnected. Current Work: The project is now substantially complete. Effect on Traffic: Occasional lane closures under the control of flaggers.04/14/2008 - 04/18/2008C
WV 9Construction of new 4-lane roadway, Berkeley Co. Route 9/19 to Jefferson Co. Route 1. Project scope: Construction of new 4-lane roadway and bridges over existing roadways. This project also includes construction of the pavement. Current Work: Excavation, including blasting, embankment, erosion measures, and utilities. Effect on Traffic: Closure of Coast Guard Drive at the entrance to the Coast Guard facility for utility work and bridge construction and occasional traffic stops on CR 9/19 for blasting and equipment crossing under the control of flaggers.04/14/2008 - 04/18/2008C
WV 9Traffic signal, WV 9 (North) Edwin Miller Blvd., and US 11, Williamsport Pike. Project Scope: Upgrade of the two signal systems to accommodate the growth in the area and ad-vancements in signal technology. Current Work: Contractor is installing poles and overhead cables.
