Right-of-Way Division

The Right-of-Way Division acquires all real estate necessary for the construction and maintenance of all public roads and highways under the jurisdiction of the West Virginia Department of Transportation, Division of Highways.

The Division is responsible for related functions and responsibilities including, but not limited to: procuring all necessary waste and borrow pit agreements; removal, sale, or demolition of buildings and other improvements which are on the right-of-way; offering relocation services and payments to each family or business affected by construction of public roads; and relocation of any graves or cemeteries located within the proposed highway right-of-way.
